Hamlet Private
Hamlet Private
Hamlet's fundamental questions are also our questions. He dither, we dither. An intimate Hamlet, for one spectator only.
16 Jun 2017, 11:00 – 15:00
The Glorious Art House,
120 Fore St, Exeter EX4 3JQ, UK

There will be four sessions:
11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm

ABOUT THE EVENT

In a close relationship between viewer and actor sitting at the table of a cafè, the performance investigates the world of Hamlet lying within ourselves. A tarot reading acts as an excuse to question one’s ego, in a story intertwining past, present and future through cold places such as Denmark and Norway, where the Shakespearean tragedy unfolds, and then taking us back to the here and now of present time.

TESTIMONIALS

"What an extraordinary journey I've been on this morning. There was so much in each image, in the words Marco offered, in his tone, encouragement and 'performance' in the gentlest most inclusive way.

"In the richness of the experience was sadness, revelation, comfort and always the excitement, that heady mixture of fear and curiosity and desire that lies in the next step and the daring to take it... Thank you"

"To travel to new lands you need first to leave the shore; and this was the most extra-ordinary way of sailing out and looking back - and forward, with new eyes. To be? To be!

"... Marco brought a humanity and an attention that invited me to be kind to my ditherer, to see here as integral to my understanding of my past, present and future and the people who are a part of my journey. All this and Hamlet's story; all to myself:

- a luxury

- a pleasure. Thank you!"

"Thank you so much for this performance. It was a most enjoyable moment of pondering over the central question of life."

"We all have doubts in our life but too little time to think them through, too few moments to reflect on them with someone. You bring so nicely the story of Hamlet to one's everyday life and made it personal. I had two doubts in my mind but i chose the one that was stronger. During the session i got to realise that actually i have made my decision already and the cards just reflected that."

"What an introduction to Hamlet! Makes me intrigued to see the play itself, as the question that are truly essential to all humanity. Thank you for the experience!"
